A lot of us have been trained to think that comfort foods are not good and to be avoided. At times, if your comfort food is basically candy or other junk foods, this can be true. Other times, though, comfort foods can be altogether nourishing and it’s good for you to eat them. A number of foods really do raise your mood when you eat them. When you are feeling a little down and need an emotional pick-me-up, try a few of these.

Eggs, believe it or not, are great for helping you battle depression. Just make sure that you don’t get rid of the egg yolk. Every time you wish to cheer yourself up, the egg yolk is the most vital part of the egg. Eggs, particularly the yolks, are full of B vitamins. These B vitamins are great for helping to elevate your mood. This is because the B vitamins help your neural transmitters–the parts of your brain that affect your mood–work better. Consume an egg and feel better!
