The ingredients needed to prepare Focaccia Bread:
- Get 600 gms flour
- Take 2 tsp granulated sugar
- Take 2 tsp instant dry yeast
- Get 60 ml oil
- Provide 1 tbsp salt
- Get 450 ml warm water
- Take 3 big garlic minced cloves
- Get 2 tbsp dry herbs (origano,rosemary)
- Use 1 tsp chilli flakes
- You need 100 gms bell pepers/ capcicum
Steps to make Focaccia Bread:
- Prepare the Dough: whisk half of the water, 2 tsp yeast, together in a bowl. cover and allow to rest for five minutes. Then add remaining water, oil, salt, flour and make a nice smooth and soft dough. poke it with your finger if it bounces back your dough is ready to rise, if not then it needs more kneading.
- Let the dough rise: lightly grease a large bowl with oil, place the dough in the bowl. coat the dough with oil and cover the bowl with a damp towel and keep it in a warm place for 2 hr if u r in hurry heat your oven at 65C and keep the dough inside for about 30 mins.
- Prepare the toppings: Take 3 tbsp of oil add minced garlic, herbs and chilli flakes mix well and cut the bell peppers into medium slices.
- Take a baking tray grease it very well. take that dough and Knead it lightly and roll it and flatten it placed it in the tray. the dough should be evenly spread.
- Apply the herb garlic oil on the top of the dough spread the herb and garlic nicely, spread the sliced bell pepper nicely on the dough.
- Rest the tray for some time to rise it again u can also put inside the oven at 65C to fast rise.
- After rising of the dough bake it on 235C about 20-30 mins untill lightly brown on the top.
- After taking out the bread brush it with that left over herb oil.
- Serve it warm.
